TIFF’11. September Diamond Day.

For September’s Diamond Day, we are doing something a little different. I want to share some photos from my trip to Toronto.

Every year for the past 3 years my brother and I head over to Toronto for the Toronto International Film Festival. This year was no different! It’s something we look forward to all year and the process of getting our ticket packages and getting to see all the movies that we want to see while there is quite a stressful one. In the end we were lucky enough to have pretty much the perfect schedule! This year we saw 18 films in 6 days. That’s a record for us. And I have to say that it was the best year yet!

The first thing we encountered right when we arrived was spotting Mr.Brainwash doing an interview and setting up his installations near the box office. It was pretty cool to see him in person. He is EXACTLY the same as he was in the film “Exit Through the Gift Shop”.

We tried to get a photo with him but he was far too busy taggin’ everything

After our first brush with fame we picked up all our tickets…and i say ALL because there are A LOT of them. Also a few goodies from the gift shop.

Let the movie going begin!

The red carpets are a lot of fun, seeing all the celebs arrive and looking super fancy. But it’s really great when you get to hear them speak about the film itself, and maybe ask a few questions. Out of all 18 films we saw only 2 of them didn’t have a Q&A afterward. Which was a pleasant surprise as not all the films we saw were premieres or special presentations.

I don’t usual ask any of the celebrities for photos when I’m snapping shots on the red carpet. But Justin Long was being so nice signing autographs for as many people as his PR people would let him, I just had to ask! This was my first time actually getting a photo WITH someone. It was pretty exciting, we spoke a bit too. Very cool experience.

‘Shame’ was both my brother and I’s most anticipated film and we were very excited to be attending the North American premiere and to have Micheal Fassbender attending. There was a lot of buzz that he wasn’t going to back it back for the premier after flying to Venice to accept his best actor award…we waited nervously. Then they presented him and we were SO excited to get to listen to him and director Steve Mcqueen talk about the fantastic film.

OH! and I also spoted James Franco in the audience…snapped a shot for Kelsie, she’s got a major crush on him.

and here’s a little peek at TIFF through the eyes of my iphone.

We had a blast, and as usual we will be back next year!

Hope you guys enjoyed this post…something a little more personal!

Fancy Royal Birthday. July Diamond Day.

happy birthday to diamond cake’s Kelsie!!!

Kelsie decided for her birthday that she wanted to celebrate the royal way. That is, with fancy hates and fancy eats! Lot’s of floral and pink decorations along with champagne and delicious cupcakes, made it extra special. Our friend even made cucumber sandwiches, fitting for THE queen! All the ladies showed up in their finest headwear and we had a little too much fun posing for photos looking like the posh royals we are!

Kelsie did all the yummy baking and the pretty flowers came from her brothers yard! It’s practically a jungle of gorgeous flowers!

Kelsie was giving Kate Middleton a run for her money with those snazzy white gloves.

This was Kelsie’s husbands fancy hat…

And a happy Diamond Day to everyone! As always feedback is welcome and appreciated.

The Cheeseburger Cake. June Diamond Day.

June 23rd is Christina’s brothers birthday and it just so happens that about a week prior to his birthday he won a draw at work to have a fancy cake made just for him. After a little discussion with the cakes maker, Angela, it was settled…a cheeseburger cake would make a lovely birthday cake. (with a milkshake and side of poutine of course!)

This thing was SO BIG and awesome. We obviously took way too many pictures of it…how could you not!?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Matthew and a HUGE kudos to Angela for making such an insanely crazy cool cake!

Fitting it in the fridge was no easy task! Number one it’s super heavy and number two…if you haven’t noticed yet…it’s REALLY BIG!!

of course Christina had to get some shots with this sucker!

Rip’s 2nd birthday. May Diamond Day.

For those of you who have not had the great fortune of meeting Kelsie’s pride and joy, Rippen, her dachshund-chihuahua, (yes that makes her a chiweenie) you should know that there isn’t much in this world that she loves more than her.

So since it was her 2nd birthday on May 6th, we had to celebrate! Rip and her brother Runo got all dressed up in their party hats and let us take cute photos of them…can we talk about how adorable they look!?

Hipster birthday fest. april diamond day.

we decided that to celebrate we’d throw a “hipster” themed birthday party. I was so amazed at the effort everyone put into to look effortlessly cooler than everyone else. AMAZING! And decorating was way too much fun since it didn’t actually have to look “good” haha. obscure drinks, loud noise music, skinny jeans, facial hair and chest tattoos rounded out the evening quite nicely!

everyone had to “sign my blog” and there was temporary knuckle tattoos for whoever wanted them.

There was cake and AMAZING gifts from my fabulous friends. look at the diamond painting that my friend paul did (he knows me too well) isn’t it gorgeous!? and yes, that is the entire boyband ‘NSYNC in the form of bobbleheads. That gift came from diamond cake’s very own kelsie!

and to honor DIAMOND CAKE paul made the greatest chest tattoo of all time! who thinks he should get that permanently? we most certainly do! walking advertisement!!

plastic framed glasses were obviously a staple of the night…insta-hipster! those real-d 3-d ones work quite nicely!

Then we had more than a little fun hamming it up for our streamer-booth!

HAPPY HIPSTER BIRTHDAY CHRISTINA! and happy diamond day to all our fans! as always we hope you enjoyed the post and we welcome any feedback!
