The Friesen’s. Edmonton Family Photographer.

Chad went to design school with us and we were pretty excited when his wife Jill contacted us for a family session. Mostly because they are so darn cute! Isla is such a beautiful little girl. Photographing these three was a real treat!

If you are interested in booking a family session with us send us an email to info@diamondcake.ca

Ali & Sam. Edmonton Wedding Photography.

When we meet up with Ali & Sam to photograph their engagement session we knew that their wedding was going to be a good one. It’s pretty easy when our clients are this photogenic! Their wedding was nothing short of beautiful. There ceremony and speeches at the reception were full of so much love and you could really feel the support that their family and friends gave both Ali and Sam. It was such a joy to photograph such a wonderful day.

The girls all met up at Studio 107 Hair in St.Albert and had a pretty laid back morning getting gorgeous!

Ali had a little mixup with her makeup artist and was left with no one to do her and her bridesmaids makeup. Fortunately she had some pretty awesome and talented bridesmaids!

The ceremony was at a small little white church outside of Devon, Ab. Ali and Sam had to do a little convincing for the church committee to let them get married here, and we are so glad they did!

One of the members of the church, the man who rang the bell once Ali & Sam were married, offered to let us use his farm for photos. You could tell that he had made sure the grass was perfectly manicured. It was such a great location. It’s always fun working with a new location. Especially one with so much to work with!

One of our favourite shots of the day was when we told the boys to stand behind the girls and jump. It turned out perfect! And then immediately after that the boys said they had a really good idea for a photo. They then proceeded to ran away from us and then toward us. Pure gold!

After the speeches we snuck outside with the newlyweds and took a few shots on the dock with the setting sun.

Then it was party time!

Thank you again to Ali & Sam for having us be a part of your wedding day. It was a real pleasure!

Yesterday we posted part 1 of this amazing wedding. Today we’ve got part 2 which brings all the little details, the ceremony and the wonderful reception.

We asked Nicole how much time she thinks her and her bridesmaids spent crafting for the wedding. She simply said “a lot”. There was no detail spared. The backdrop of the ceremony, the centrepieces, the signs, the photo board, the guestbook table, and don’t even get us started on the fact that Nathan MADE a photo booth! A WORKING PHOTO BOOTH! These two are unreal and their wedding reflects that 100%!

Nathan and Nicole had local food truck “Nomad” cater and it did not disappoint!

There were lots of games and activities for everyone to keep busy while the food was served. Including a hand made jumbo sized JENGA that a friend made for the wedding.

This top hat has been passed on through Nicole’s family. It was pretty cool having her mom pass it over to Nathan and have him wear it for some photos!

There were A LOT of mosquitos. So being the loving husband Nathan is, he covered Nicole in bug repellant before they had their first dance.

Thank you again to Nicole and Nathan for choosing us for your wedding! It truly was our pleasure!

Nicole & Nathan. Edmonton Wedding Photography. Part 1.

We have been waiting to share this wedding since before we even photographed it. Nicole & Nathan are wonderful friends of ours that we met when we were all attending design school. Nathan is an extremely talented photographer and Nicole is an amazing designer, we knew that the two of them would come up with a pretty phenomenal wedding!

Choosing what photos to share was kind of impossible! There are way too many moments and details to share so we’ve split this wedding into two parts. Part 1: The morning, a first look and formals.

Nicole and the girls headed to Mousy Browns Salon in Edmonton to get glam for the big day!

Some how the liquor license was misplaced so the boys stopped to grab a new one…funny photos ensued!

This photo almost takes my breath away. Nicole looks so beautiful and so genuinely happy. She’s on the phone with her Husband to be!

Then it was time for the first look! We loved Nathan’s genuine reaction, he really was taken aback by how beautiful Nicole looked!

Amy, one of Nicole’s bridesmaid’s, Husband let us borrow his killer purple truck for a few shots before the ceremony!

..to be continued! Tomorrow we’ll have the ceremony, reception and all the beautiful DIY details!
